The annual SPCA Garden Tour is a self-guided walking tour showcasing the beautiful landscapes within Shepherd Park, Colonial Village, and North Portal Estates. Unique gardens of all sizes and styles are on display for everyone’s enjoyment and inspiration and in some years the SPCA has had special attractions such as beekeeping and activities for the kids. The SPCA's Garden Tour has been featured in several publications such as the Washington Gardener, Northwest Current, Washington Gardener, and Capital Community News.
The SPCA's Garden Tour is a wonderful way to see the magnificent beautification efforts of our community's residents. Tickets are still only $15 per person for general admission and the Garden Tour is FREE for current SPCA members and children under 12 (Children must be supervised by an adult). Proceeds from the tour go directly to support SPCA's beautification projects throughout the neighborhood. You can join the SPCA and then sign up for a free ticket below.
Tickets may be purchased in advance or on the day of the tour. On the day of the tour, the ticket kiosk will open at 1:30 pm in front of Shepherd Park Christian Church located at 7900 Eastern Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20012. Tour brochures with maps and directions will be provided there.

History of the Garden Tour
The Garden Tour was reinstated in 2005 under the leadership of Pat Bailey with the help of Philip McClain. In 2005, the Garden Tour brought in $1,000 in ticket sales from approximately 100 visitors to view the lush gardens on eight properties in our community. As of 2021, the Garden Tour has grown in popularity with other 200 visitors from around the region. The SPCA Garden Tour has been featured in Washington Gardener Magazine.
