Wonders is one of the largest, non-profit child care organizations in Montgomery County and the District of Columbia, and for more than 30 years we've been providing a safe, nurturing environment parents can trust and depend upon. Collectively, Wonders supports the interests of each child with hands-on experiences that help advance social-emotional and cognitive skills. To foster the development process, we have low student-teacher ratios, an
open-door policy for parents, and a variety of age-appropriate field trips.
Wonders teachers are highly educated and come from diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences. Many remain with us from year to year and, in turn, we demonstrate our commitment by providing a stimulating working environment, with salary/benefit packages that recognize their professionalism and continuing dedication to Wonders.
Our mission of creating inclusive communities for children, families and staff is guided, in part, by the work of the Wonders Diversity Committee, which ensures themes of sharing, fairness and anti-bias are integrated into our curriculum to create a positive transition between home and school.
Wonders believes all families deserve quality child care. In an effort to make our programs accessible to as many families as possible, the Wonders Scholarship Fund provides tuition assistance of approximately $160,000 a year to families who qualify.
Our Park Children's Center in Shepherd Park DC offers child care for ages 2-5, including full day preschool and pre-K classes with before and after care.
