Annual Shepherd Park Garden Tour
Sunday, May 23th, 2009 1-4pm
General Information
Now that the winter snows are a distant memory and the spring rains
are upon us, we joyously look forward to the 6th Annual SPCA Garden Tour on
Sunday, May 23, 1-4 pm. This year’s tour will feature six to eight of the
loveliest gardens found in the Shepherd Park, Colonial Village and North
Portal Estate neighborhoods.
The tour will offer a superb combination of beauty, creativity, elegance and
originality. A few of the wonderful gardens from past years along with
several new additions will be available for your viewing delight.
As in years past, this will be a self-guided tour which will allow
you to leisurely visit each garden in any order and at any time during the
open hours. Some Garden Hosts may be available to answer your questions
about their special shrubbery and floral selections.
This spring tradition has a great impact on the community as a
whole. It inspires other neighbors to beautify their yards and proceeds from
the tours have been used to preserve and enhance selected green spaces in
the various communities.
Tickets can be ordered in advance for pick-up the day of the tour by
using the order form below or purchased the day of the tour. Tickets are $15
per person or $7 per person for SPCA members. The tour starts in front of
Shepherd Elementary School (14th Street and Kalmia Road) where tickets and
tour directories will be available starting at 12:45 pm.
